TL;DR: Start with things that protect (door sills take a beating), then things that upgrade how the cabin feels (dash trim), then safety basics (a real emergency light, because EVs don't have a spare tire kit in most cases). Skip anything that blocks sensors or cameras.
First, a quick fitment check
Tesla refreshed both cars: the Model 3 Highland (2024+) and the Model Y Juniper (2025+) have different interiors from earlier versions. Always choose the version that matches your car's model year on the product page. That one step saves you a return.
1. Protect the door sills
Every time someone gets in, shoes and bags scrape the sills. Protectors are cheap insurance for resale value. The Tesery LED Illuminated Door Sill Protectors add a glow-up on top: each sill has its own battery and magnetic switch, so there's no wiring, and the TPE material is flexible and scuff-resistant. They're offered for Model Y 2021–2025.03, Model Y Juniper, Model 3 2021–2023.10 and Model 3 Highland. Pick your version.
2. Upgrade the dash
The Highland and Juniper dash is clean but plain. The Tesery Alcantara Dash Trim is a two-piece trim with a soft, suede-like finish that helps reduce windshield glare and protects the dash from scratches. It installs with pre-applied 3M adhesive and comes in eight colors, so you can go subtle (Black, Titanium Grey) or main-character (Red, Orange, Sky Blue).
Install tip: clean the dash with the included wipe, let it dry fully, and press firmly along the whole edge. Install in a warm garage if you can; adhesive bonds better above about 60°F.
3. Add a real emergency light
EVs are amazing until you're on a dark shoulder at night. Many Teslas don't come with a spare tire, so you might be waiting for roadside assistance. A magnetic light like the one in the Powertac Vehicle Emergency Kit sticks to steel body parts and doubles as a traffic beacon with the included cone. Note: some Tesla panels are aluminum, where magnets won't stick, but you can still set the light on the ground with the cone. Full list in our car emergency kit checklist.
4. Camp mode, but comfy
Tesla's Camp Mode keeps climate control running overnight, which makes Model Y camping a whole thing. Add a proper mattress and you've got a hotel on wheels. Our SUV Car Camping 101 guide covers the full setup, including the Umbrauto SUV Air Mattress. Measure your cargo area before you buy.
What to skip
- Anything that covers cameras, ultrasonic sensors or the windshield camera area
- Heavy screen mounts that put stress on the center display
- Super-cheap "universal" trims that don't list the exact model year

FAQ
Do Model 3 Highland accessories fit older Model 3s?
Usually not for interior trims; the dash and door designs changed. Always check the model year listed on the product page.
Will dash trim damage my dashboard?
Trims attached with automotive 3M adhesive are designed to stay put and can be removed carefully, but some residue or marks are possible. Follow the installation instructions closely.
Do LED door sills need wiring?
The Tesery LED sills are battery-powered with a magnetic switch, so no wiring is needed.
